A Healthy diet & exercise + Regular doctor visits + Good hygiene = A "Fit Kid"


Learning the best ways to live a healthily can benefit you for the rest of your life. By understanding ways to live healthy and prevent illnesses you can find out how to take care of your body, eat healthy, and stay fit! You can take care of your body by practicing cleanliness, making healthy food choices, and going to visit your doctor regularly for checkups and immunizations. Check out the resources below and use them to create fun projects that will help be a “Fit Kid”!




Tasks
Complete option 1 or option 2 :

1.) Using the website nourishmentactive.com, go to the interactive food pyramid and review the healthy foods. Next, create a menu using the healthy foods on the food pyramid. The menu should contain balanced and healthy foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.


Process for option 1:

Step 1: Go to www.nourishinteractive.com/kids/en/foods-pyramid
Step 2: Listen to and review the interactive food pyramid.
Step 3: Go to Microsoft Publisher and create a food menu using the Menu Templates given.
Step 4: Create a menu using the healthy foods from the food pyramid.
Step 5: On the menu provie 1 healthy option for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
*Remember to be creative and make sure the foods are healthy!



2.) Using website Kidshealth.org, read "a kids guide to shots." Next, use inspiration to create an idea map with the main circle "Importance of Getting your shots."
In each bubble list reasons why its important to get shots.


Process for option 2:

Step 1: Go to www.kidshealth.org/kid/stay_healthy/body/guide_shots.html1#
Step 2: Read "A Kids Guide to Shots."
Step 3: Using the program Inspiration, create a main idea map.
Step 4: The main bubble should say "Importance of getting shots."
Step 5: In each bubble list reasons why it is important to keep up with your shots.
*Feel free to be creative and use pictures!

After completeing one of the fun and interactive projects healthy living projects you are on the path to a healthier life. Remember it is important to make healthy food choices, stay active, practice good hygiene, and visit the doctor regularly! It may sound like a lot of work, but keeping yourself healthy is the most important thing. Take control and be a "FIT KID"!!!
