The 9 Planet Solar System Tour

Introduction:
You just buckled youerself in for the ride of your life. You feel the adrenaline rush through your body. Recently you have
become a certified astronaut from NASA and they have selected you to explore and collect evidence about our solar system.
It is up to you to come back and teach us with the information you gain. Good luck Space Captain!!



Task 1: Today you aspiring astronauts will research information about the solar system and create a table
about what you learned. The table needs to include the following: Order of planets nearest to the sun, the year it
was discovered, how many moons it has, what it's known for, a random fact, and your weight on the planet. You can add more columns to your
table but no more than three. Use Microsoft Exel to create your table.

Task 2: After your done researching the planets, you will be creating a sales pitch. It is your job to convince
your class mates that the planet you picked is a good place to live. Then show what your environment looks like. Be creative
and steer away from picking Earth. You can use Photostory or powerpoint to express your creativity.

Consider:
How is it suitable for human life?
What is the weather like?
Some sight seeing places for tourists.
What makes this planet better then everyone elses?
What do you look like?
Are there other life forms?
What are you surrounded by?


Process:
1. Click on the following links under Resources to start researching.
2. Using Microsoft Excel, open and create a table with the listed colums and rows.
3. Print out the table and hand it in to your teacher.
4. Use the resources below to start your sales pitch project.
5. Open up Photostory or Powerpoint to create a presentation.
6. Share with the class.

Conclusion:
Now that you have completed your jouney of this galaxy, you have obtained much knowledge and interesting facts of the planets surrounding you. With this knowledge you have obtained, this capability that only a few have gained, you can now look up into the sky and instead of wondering what is out there you can rely on the facts.
